Iran’s animated film ‘Tangle’ grabs award in Bulgaria

The Early Bird International Student Film Festival in Bulgaria has awarded Iran’s animated short ‘Tangle’.

According to the Iranian Youth Cinema Society, the film won the Best Animation award at the 15th Early Bird International Student Film Festival.

Directed by Maliheh Gholamzadeh, ‘Tangle’ tells the story of people who have to leave their homeland because of war.

The Early Bird International Student Film Festival is “the biggest Bulgarian forum dedicated to support the creation of student short films,” the festival’s website reads.

“It is the only festival fully devoted to help young filmmakers to reach their audience,” it adds.

The 15th Early Bird International Student Film Festival took place in the Bulgarian city of Sofia on November 1-5, 2019.
